Supreme Court of Canada

Chief Justice of the Canadian Supreme Court

I read the report in the National Post 17th June 2022 concerning Richard Wagner’s beliefs that The Freedom Convoy of peaceful truck driver protesters in Ottawa had a “deplorable effect on the Nation’s capital and should never happen again”.   Wow, what an understatement of misinformation!

If the chief of the supreme court has these biased views, how can he hold sway in any court which is supposed to uphold the laws of Canada?

Perhaps if he was not such a believer in both the CBC and Trudeau, he would be able to examine what happened when the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was completely ignored by this current Liberal/NDP government coalition, and a peaceful protest resulted.  Yes, there were blockades at some major border crossings between Canada and the USA and they were very effective, but dismantled peacefully without any illegal Emergency Act or militarized police violence.

“We all have a responsibility to deliver good information” he said qualifying the impact of the Freedom Convoy’s blockades on many Ottawa businesses and individuals (particularly “the most vulnerable”) as deplorable and that it should “never happen again”

I am astounded that a group of ordinary Canadians protesting the destruction of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (isn’t he supposed to make sure that Charter is obeyed?), who fed the hungry, cleaned the streets of snow, protected memorials, collected garbage, were peaceful and courteous to the police and the public, and if those business had stayed open, rather than closing in fear created by the CBC, I am sure they would have made money.  Perhaps he should talk to Senator Batters who said she had never felt so safe walking in Ottawa as she did while the protest was taking place.

He also complained that there were no protectors for the Supreme Court, and didn’t seem to realize that it was never under any threat a) because the protest was peaceful, and b) the protest was against the government of Canada n0t the now suspect Supreme Court of Canada.

“The chief justice repeated his warning that though he believes Canadians largely have confidence in institutions like the Supreme Court, that confidence is fragile and is undermined by disinformation and misinformation spread namely through social media.”

The CBC was soo biased (and still is) that they initially said the convoy was to protest icy roads.!!!  My goodness, where the hell have they been hiding?  Icy roads in Canadian winters are a given and have been forever.

Their reporting of the events on the ground are still being broadcast today as promo videos under ‘what’s happening now” news on the afternoon programs such as “The Rundown” with Andrew Nichols, or Ginella Massa’s commentator who referred to Trudeau’s military actions as “Stalin level of suppression”.

I got my real news from independent videos being shown on the net of the Canadian peoples’ support generated through their journey to Ottawa (along with $20 million raised in financial support and stolen by Freeland) and what was actually happening there on Wellington Street, and the contrast with the major TV programs, particularly the CBC, was astonishing.  It was similar to two different worlds. I might add that the rest of the world looked in our direction and what they saw was good and in many of those countries they copied our truckers’ actions.

What bothers me about this news conference was that a man who is the Chief Justice of the final and Supreme Court in Canada is willing to allow the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to be torn up by illegal mandates from a corrupt government lead by a man who believes he has the right to use hate speech without any repercussions.

This Chief Justice’s press release has done more to undermine my faith in justice in Canada than anything else I have witnessed since I came here in 1967, and my suggestion to this Chief Justice is that he either resign or recuse himself from any cases which make it to the Supreme Court on the matter of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms or the Freedom Convoy because of his clear bias on them both.
