What?

15th February 2023

I caught the tail end of a press conference on CPAC yesterday by some politicians concerning the presentation of a report of the “Illegal” invasion of Ukraine by Russia.  I was unable to find the report on Canada’s website, or CPAC or Hansard after I had listened with some confusion to the speakers at the press conference.

It appears that Canadian MPs of all stripes seem to think that this “war” started in 2022, conveniently forgetting or simply disregarding the events from 2014 until 2022.  In 2014 the US, as is their habit, along with countries like Canada installed a new puppet president in Ukraine with strong Nazi ties.  The Donbas region of Ukraine (mostly Russian speakers) did not wish to be Nazified and so they declared themselves independent states – Donetsk and Luhansk.  Naturally this disgruntled the US and, by association, Canada.

We have had military personnel in Ukraine for years training the Nazi Ukrainian army on how to fight and then to shell, bomb, snipe, rape and destroy the Donbass region turning it into a wasteland.  This caused the locals to form their own fighting force to defend themselves, which to a large extent they had been doing for 8 years of constant war with the Nazi part of Ukraine which was aided and abetted by Canadian troops on the ground there.

According to Global Affairs website this is all false information because the war did not start until Russia set out to rescue the independent states of Donetsk and Luhansk from further damage.  Strange how the previous 8 years simply did not seem to happen.

Also strange that at that point NATO, lead of course by the most illegally invasive country the world has ever known – 30 countries and still counting but not including sanctioned countries – decided to engage in a proxy war on the side of the Nazi party of Ukraine.  For the USA/NATO to call Russia’s action illegal is actually laughable.

The imposition of Sanctions by NATO members did not have the desired affect at all, in fact it sort of ruined the EU economially and maybe this was what the US wanted.  Naturally the cheap oil and gas from Russia had to be replaced by expensive stuff from the US – how surprising.  The Nordstrom pipe line was destroyed and since Biden had promised it would be done there can be no doubt who did it; and the British appeared to have failed to destroy that bridge only damaging a small portion of it.

The fact is that there is a hell of a mess over there and Global Canada claims that Russia does not want to talk peace and the US does…Hah.

NATO is running low on stockpiled armaments and Canada sent its only 4 running Leopard2 tanks to the area, along with trainers of course.

We have just been fooled for nearly three years now by the fake flu called covid and so the idiots in charge think we are ready to be fooled again as to what is happening over there.

What is the matter with the world?

Has no one heard of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization or BRICKS?  Do we not understand that the continent of Africa is turning away from the liars, cheats and hypocrites from the West?

We are so captured by the WEF and NATO that we are blind to what may well be coming.

Far from being financially crippled Russia is making great gains in trade with and offering assistance to welcoming nations without the usual clenched fist of the West.

Why can our political people not see this and do something positive instead of jumping into the deep end without water wings?

Oh Canada – where did you go?

Wednesday morning willies

Early this  morning I woke up with the feeling something was really wrong.  Thinking that if I was right even this government’s propaganda station (the CBC) would have some kind of spin on whatever was giving me the willies, I made a cup of tea and turned on my TV and was soothed  by the fact that nothing really new was happening,  in other words same old  CBC fake spin  about nothing to do with the Canadian people.

However, it is clear to me that we are actually at war.  None of our overpaid politicians will admit it, but the USA has dragged us into a NATO proxy war against Russia.  I do not believe that we have no boots on the ground in Ukraine anymore than I believe that Trudeau cares one whit about the Canadian people.

We will be sending tanks to Ukraine, count on it as the God Klaus has told his puppets here in Canada what he wants them to do, and anyway we have already donated billions by stripped money away from drinkable water for First Nations, affordable housing (how could a multi-millionaire in power understand that specially as he is living free at taxpayers’ expense anyway?) and a multitude of services that have fallen by the wayside – passports for one example.

I wrote to Freeland 4 times last year asking for an accounting of the money we have donated to her nazi buddy and have had not one word back from her. What a surprise!   Now we hear officially that corruption has been running rampant there and where the hell has our money ended up?  Yachts and mansions in the Cayman Islands anyone?

We have been training the Ukrainian nazi army for years, at Canadian taxpayers expense, teaching them how to kill, rape and torture those Russian speaking civilians in the Donbass region who do not wish to be Nazis. This has been going on since 2014, after the USA sponsored coup, without a word of condemnation from Canada as the Donbass has been turned into rubble. That in itself is some let down for the Canadian military, but just like our RCMP under Mendicino and Blair that has been turned into a militarized enforcement agency, it doesn’t seem to matter. Serving governments not the people, bastardisation is the name of the game.

We are told increasingly about young people using violence in one form or another and our presstitute media seem to be puzzled.  The modern babysitters are not people anymore but electronic gaming gadgets that teach the young how to “kill” with no concept of consequences, just a reset button if they fail.  Having taught them this art, why would we be surprised if they take this into the world?  Older people are such easy targets, as are people trapped in a public space doing a public service job.

During the Fauci/Gates/Trudeau plandemic, we turned their young lives upside down, took them away from their friends and made them even more reliant on “phone games”. We have stripped them of the ability to talk, to think constructively, play sports or act to protect their fellow citizens.  This is a generalization because there are many young who are not like that, but peer pressure can do strange things to the less aware.  Why then are we surprised?

The vaste majority of adult Canadians showed them how to be subservient and have mRNA injections because they were told to, and with no knowledge of what was in those injections or what effect they might have but fear and panic of a fake flu was enough.  Poor example I would say.  We pride ourselves on being mild and polite, but that acquiescence was actually very stupid, and showed our children that fear and panic was OK.

Canada appears to have lost its backbone, and already the Freedom Convoy has faded even though every day the CBC lays claim to showing “whats new and whats happening” while they show a video of that convoy from a year ago.  Even today anyone who shows signs of protest in Canada is referred to as a fringe minority by our out of touch PM, and dismissed as meaningless. He does say though that they have the right to protest unlike the truckers last year.

Our health care system is broken, not due to lack of money, and more money will not fix it, but because of petty unelected provincial bodies called “colleges” of various branches of western medicine. During the plandemic any doctor worth his /her profession and who tried to treat their patients with existing medication when they got the flu, was cancelled.  The colleges removed their licenses to practice unless they agreed to jab everyone and not try to actually cure anyone.  Doctors, Practitioner Nurses and more left the field of medicine causing a shortage that still exists today, and thatnot money is the problem.  Here in BC our unrepresentative legislature has just passed Bill 36 which in essence gives even more quasi “legal” power to the unelected colleges which is not going to entice doctors to return to practice in BC.    No amount of cash will do that either as Doctors want to practice medicine not fulfill absurd demands to pad the profits of pharmaceutical corporations at their patients expense.

Can anyone tell me when Ukraine became or will become a democracy?  By definition there are very few democracies in the world, Canada and the Ukraine are very definitely not among them.

What we really lack in Canada is leadership, and I do not see a national figure on the horizon.

More Money to Ukraine

To The Hourable Chrystia Freeland,

Deputy Prime Minister of Canada,

Canadian Minister of Finance,

Director of the World Economic Forum.

13th December 2022

Minister,

Yet again today your propaganda TV Station (CBC) advises me that you are donating another $115 million to the Nazi Comic, partner and hero of our Prime Minister, in Ukraine.

Now for the 4th time this year (4th June, 14th August and 18th October) I write to you concerning your largess to a country which chose to allow the USA by proxy to antagonize Russia, most likely because Canada and NATO encouraged it with promise of apparently unending support.

Most people would consider that 8 years of raping and killing Russian speaking women, men and children through relentless bombing, shelling and sniping indiscriminately in the Donbas region who wanted nothing to do with the NAZI party of Ukraine, would be reason enough to mount a rescue expedition.

Regretfully we have a reputation these days as a country which is willing to sponsor warlike actions against our own people (Freedom Convoy) as well as those designated as enemies by the USA and of course your WEF.

I also see that we are going to levy sanctions against Haiti now to as if we hadn’t already done them enough harm.

Our Aboriginal people are still, in large numbers, without clean running water and mold free homes, yet we have enough money to throw away to the Ukrainian killers of Russian speaking men, women and children.  I do understand that your fealty to Klaus Schwab along with your hatred of Russia and Russians is colouring your actions, but even though I do not really like the French  much I am willing to give them their space either here in Canada, France or anywhere.   Why can you not do so with the Russians who after all are human beings just like you pretend to be.

How much have we given to the Nazis now?

How much more will we give them?

Will we ever see a penny back or will we have to get it back from African countries where I understand our donated armaments have been sold to bandits?

What has been and will be the cost we will have to pay in interest?

How much of the debt incurred in these gifts came from the Bank of Canada?

Have you consulted any real Canadians about your use of their money?

Have you consulted Canadians about your war efforts on their behalf?

Have you considered how undemocratic your behaviour has been and is today?

As an ex European (English) now a Canadian, I have to congratulate you on the economic destruction of the EU through sanctions against Russia which have crippled the EU via the boomerang effect and have been the excuse our oil corporations needed to gouge us all at the pumps.

In spite of my frustration, misgivings and lack of approval of your actions on behalf of the WEF, I wish you season’s greetings.

PS.  As I understand it the “Bricks Group” the SCO and those wanting to join them are planning to use gold as their basis for trading with each other and we of course have no gold, so how will we be able to trade with them.   To trap ourselves in mythical fiat money borrowed from international banks, not the Bank of Canada, when other countries, increasing in number, are turning to gold is I believe more than naïve.  It is simplistically insane.   Surely there must be an economist in your financial ministry who might have the answer to this, and I would be eager to hear what he/she has to say.

Emergency Act Commission

23rd November

“As long as the world shall last there will be wrongs, and if no man objected and no man rebelled, those wrongs would last forever”: Clarence Darrow

I have been following most or at least as much as I can of the hearings about the invocation of the Emergency Act by our dictator here in Canada.

Of the early witnesses it was pretty obvious that the original protest was a convoy of truckers and their supporters arriving in Ottawa from all over the country, starting from the west and supported along the entire route by thousands and thousands of people standing in the frigid Canadian winter to offer enthusiastic and loving support for their efforts.

What was that aim?

To protect the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

How was that being threatened?

The right to protect one’s own body from untested, experimental and unnecessary jabs; the right to work; the right to carry on a small or family business; the right to support our elders as they died; the right to an education, the right to family doctors who could and would practice medicine, not government voodoo, the right to meet and greet family and friends and soo much more were all being removed to support a fake plandemic which added greatly to our dictator’s family trust wealth.

I have just watched three days of ministers testifying and they all seem to be stressing the illegality of this convoy’s protest in Ottawa, and claiming how fearful they were of threats of violence against themselves. Wait a minute don’t they all have panic buttons now?  Clearly, that brilliant idea failed.  It also was not clear if those threats they feared so much were coming from annoyed Ottawa resident counter-protestors or peaceful truckers.

Funny how Senator Batters claimed in a speech to the Senate that she had never felt so safe walking in Ottawa as she had when the convoy was there; funny how well fed the homeless of Ottawa were with trailer loads of food for them and barbeques from which they could eat warm food; funny that the truckers cleared snow, collected garbage, protected statues and memorials, installed port-a-potties, held street hockey games, bouncy castles and dances to which everyone as welcome.    So un-Canadian, so dangerous, so intimidating, so unfriendly and amazing that all those things threatened our MPs.  Good grief.

I should point out that here in BC I too was threatened with the loss of my job by coercive mandates from puppet Alghabra and by ignorant PM hate speech (neither of which was ever charged under the criminal code) and which included the suggestion that there should not be room for me in Canada.  I simply considered the petulant source and laughed, knowing for whom there should not be room in Canada as the WEF beckons.

Mendicino clearly was out of his depth and really had no clue what “Public Safety” should be nor the difference between peaceful protest where the only threat of violence came from the counter-protestors, and whose interest in meeting with the Convoy to find out what they wanted was absent.

Blair was simply waiting for the excuse to repeat his police actions in Toronto a few years ago and he was squirming in his seat in ecstasy when recalling the same sort of police action he created in Toronto during a G 20 meeting a few years ago.  The man is gross and so insecure that he stumbles at great speed over his words. His reference to his belief that The Charter allows for peaceful protests is interesting in that he refers to a charter that to all intents and purposes no longer matters to his cabinet cohorts.

Also, Blair thought hate speech could inflame fear and spark violence – yes, I too was attacked by no lesser fear-monger than the PM and no one came to my rescue when I thought he might try to expel me from Canada (good luck) – however, as mentioned above I just considered the source and refrained from violence

LeBlanc used the word “illegal” 33 times to describe the convoy and added the “very dangerous” almost as many times.  Dangerous to who one must ask?  Who got hurt prior to the invoking of the EA?

Alghabra: Claims, as does the PM, that they were reelected on their proposed mandates on jabbing especially for the transport sector That is false – they were reelected in a minority as there was no viable alternative, but if the intention to cancel the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and abandon the Criminal Code on coercion and hate speech had been declared almost any alternative would have been chosen by Canadians. Perhaps it would be worth noting that his often-used expression of fear for violence did not materialize until the police used their Blair tactics of violence.

This minister met with every corporate organization concerned with making money on the backs of truckers who were supposed to get jabbed and came to Ottawa just wanting to have a discussion with him. No such luck as they were only important to be decried.

As the Canadian Truckers, Association and apparently the Teamsters Union were not supportive of this protest ( even though it was applauded by and copied by many other countries around the world)  because they too are only interested in cash on the barrel head, next time the Minister of Transport and PM overstep their legal authorities as they almost certainly will, all truckers should book off simultaneous for vacations of at least 3 weeks.  If only 75% did this oh boy, and no emergency act would help one little bit.

The summary of the ministers’ testimony to me is that the only players to be considered/meet with were police and levels of government but not the most important people: the Freedom Convoy.  No one from the Federal government wanted to speak to their shortcomings concerning their representation of Canadians and their abandoning of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Strange thing that almost everyone has stated that the EA was invoked to stop blockades and an “illegal” occupation, yet when it was actually invoked the only problem was in Ottawa, and the violence so often expressed as being just below the surface finally came almost exclusively from the military police empowered by the EA.

Now I wait for the liar-in-chief to appear on Friday which I will watch on Saturday and maybe finish this if I can retain some sort of sanity.

                                                                                       ****

Well yes, I did eventually get to watch the deputy PM (and WEF director)  waste everyone’s time by explaining in greater detail than a child of 10 would require and not really answering any question with a straight answer and thereby limiting the number of questions that could be asked of her, and the evasiveness made me cringe.  Again, we are given this image of impending violence from peaceful truckers who simply wanted to TALK or have a meeting with their federal government concerning the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and why it did not apply to Canadians anymore.

As for the PM even though he swore on a bible (WEF Version?) and gave the most important answers in French with no translation, I never doubted for a moment that he was lying about his desire to invoke the EA as he had wanted to invoke it for his plandemic a couple of years ago.  Clearly, he wanted the ice broken so that whenever he loses control of a situation, he can invoke it again.  It is sad that we have fallen so low not only in our own estimation but in that of the world as well. Must we be the laughingstock of the world?  Yes, I guess so until we are actually and officially part of the WEF.

No matter how hard I try I cannot put myself into Trudeau’s way of thinking. I try to understand and allow others to have their own opinions, but when those opinions are based on a particular god, Klaus Schwab, and his WEF church, I have to wonder about the Christian concept of

“Treat thy neigbours as you would have them treat you”

Gone with the democracy and sovereignty we thought we had in Canada, I guess because there is no profit in it.

Well, screw you Donald.

9th April 2018

Ever since America as a country came into being there has been one thing that has been in their favour and that is superior numbers.   From Custer’s 7th Cavalry famous for slaughtering old men, women and children and then getting their comeuppance from actual warriors in Montana to the huge number of men carrying guns in WW1 and WW2 acting a bit like ants; just keep on swarming until the opposition is smothered. Stubborn resistance from the strategic defence in Korea and Vietnam lead to the equalization of those numbers but oh the number of Americans and civilians who were sacrificed in those defeats!   Volume again now in nonstop battles around the globe all designed to make the USA the all-powerful self-proclaimed determiner of who should “rule” which country.

So I heard that Donald demanded that the new NAFTA deal be on his desk by 1st May 2018 in at least an MOU.   Damn it Donald you told us you were going to scrap it, and I at least fell into the trap of believing a business man of ill repute but extreme wealth who could see the advantages of scrapping NAFTA because of Mexico and their low cost of labour etc.,   I thought he could see too many changes he could make with Canada to his advantage, and indeed he could, but actually Canada if it was, in fact, an independent, democratic, sovereign country would be only too happy to tell Donald now that he is reneging on his threat that WE give you 6 months and WE are out of NAFTA.

American business can see the financial problems with them not being able to control us and so they too want NAFTA to remain.  It amuses me in a sad way that our negotiators believe that they have turned those businesses in Canada’s governmental favour forgetting that they too, just like our politicians’ own handlers are only interested in profit.   Mind that I said Canada’s government, because it is their opinion that we should be subservient to Washington and bow their every need.

We the people do not believe that, do we?   We believe that our relationship should be with the American people even with all their warts (not that we don’t have them too), and that we can and will get along people to people and business to business without all this chest banging, tribunal challenges and protectionism, with mutual respect.   Strangely this could well happen if we could just get the money lenders, politicians and manipulators and toy soldiers out of the way and talk to each other as fellow humans.

The cynics among us will say “not going to happen” and maybe they are right; as long as we have wishy-washy leaders around the world, who change their minds and promises as fast as they change their socks (or at least as often as they are told to)  then we will have to do it ourselves.

The first step in my mind is what the Canadian Action Party has promoted for years and that is that NAFTA must be done away with.

The image of the FTA cartoon of the day showing Reagan on a rearing white stallion with Mulroney following on a hobby horse saying “we won” still rings so true today.   Trump Towers and the White House against a dilapidated cat urine smelling PM residence allowed to sink into a pathetic symbol of Canada’s long gone democracy and sovereignty.

There is no way The USA will change article 605 of NAFTA, and apparently, no way the Government of Canada is willing to stop those absurd lost profit tribunal claims against us and instead insist that the investor-state claims chapter be kept in place.

So, Donald, shut up or put up because we can’t do it ourselves anymore and NAFTA really should go the way of the dodo bird.

Jeremy

From NAFTA

Article 605: Other Export Measures

Subject to Annex 605, a Party may adopt or maintain a restriction otherwise justified under Articles XI:2(a) or XX(g), (i) or (j) of the GATT with respect to the export of an energy or basic petrochemical good to the territory of another Party, only if:

  1. the restriction does not reduce the proportion of the total export shipments of the specific energy or basic petrochemical good made available to that other Party relative to the total supply of that good of the Party maintaining the restriction as compared to the proportion prevailing in the most recent 36month period for which data are available prior to the imposition of the measure, or in such other representative period on which the Parties may agree;

Kinder Morgan TransMountain Pipe LIne

An Open Letter to Canadian Minister of Natural Resources,

The Honourable Jim Carr,

“ That, given the Trans Mountain Expansion Project is in the national interest, will create jobs and provide provinces with access to global markets, the House call on the Prime Minister to prioritize the construction of the federally-approved Trans Mountain Expansion Project by taking immediate action, using all tools available; to establish certainty for the project, and to mitigate damage from the current interprovincial trade dispute, tabling his plan in the House no later than noon on Thursday, February 15, 2018.”

During a speech you made in the House of Commons on Monday 12th February 2018 concerning the above Conservative motion on the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipe Line you said this and I quote from Hansard and make some comments in italics after the statement:

“…….The project represents a $7.4 billion investment and thousands of good, middle-class jobs, a project that stands to benefit Canadians across the country, just as the existing pipeline has done since 1953, creating new access for Canadian oil to global markets and world prices.”

It pains me to have to remind MPs, especially Ministers who should know better, that the goop to travel through this pipeline IS NOT OIL.  It is something called Dilbit – diluted bitumen or diluted tar – from the Alberta Tar Sands.   Once again, I remind you of Article 605 of NAFTA which does not allow us to decrease the percentage of our bitumen production to be exported to the USA or Mexico, and as Rachel Notley stated in November to the Economic Club of Canada, the USA is a monopoly purchaser – which means that they take 100% of our bitumen.  How then are you going to export even I barrel of dilbit anywhere else, even to Mexico, without causing the USA to take us to a NAFTA tribunal for breaking Article 605?    Are you in essence saying that the benefits that Alberta might accrue by this ‘illegal’ exporting will outweigh the price the whole of Canada will have to pay for that inevitable tribunal fine?  How can you with a straight face say that this fine will be good for Canada?  By the way it is also estimated that after the line is built there will be 40 full-time jobs in BC, so where will the rest of the “thousands of good jobs” be?   Unwelcome memories of Joe Oliver and his promise of ‘hundreds of thousands of jobs’ from Northern Gateway come flooding back.

*

“We understand that one of the biggest concerns on everyone’s mind is the potential oil spill. We share that concern, which is why we have developed a plan that puts in place every safeguard against a spill happening in the first place.

Through the oceans protection plan, the Canadian Coast Guard now has more people, more authority, and more equipment to do its vital and necessary work. For the first time, two large tow vessels will be on call on the B.C. coast. Several Coast Guard vessels will be equipped with specialized toe kits to improve capacity to respond quickly. Primary environmental response teams, composed of specially trained personnel, will further strengthen the Coast Guard’s existing on-scene operations.”

This may be the case for an oil spill, but again this is not oil so do you really believe this for bitumen?  You claim that the Coast Guard will have a greater capacity to tow damaged vessels should a collision happen, but make absolutely no mention of how the bitumen will be cleaned from the floors of the Georgia Strait or the Strait of Juan da Fuca   You do not even mention that as it is not oil but heavier than water tar it will sink to the bottom, and that the dilutant consists of toxic gasses which will be released into the atmosphere.  Depending on the winds at the time, and there are always winds in both of those Straits, and the location of any crash those toxic fumes could have a very damaging affect upon the people of Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, Victoria and the Lower Vancouver Island, the San Juan Islands, or even Bellingham, Seattle, Port Angeles, Sequim or the US Military base at Whidbey Island in Washington State.

Obviously, you haven’t thought of that nor have the other members of the so-called environmental protection ministries, or do you simply not care and are the people of Washington State aware of that same lack of concern for them as you have for the people of coastal BC?

Naturally, our air-breathing friends from the ocean, whales, seals, sea lions, otters and coastal birds along with the fish which will be unable to swallow the bitumen clumps do not factor into your reasoning either.   It’s all to do with corporate money and profit isn’t it Mr. Carr?

*

After your speech there were, as usual, some questions two of which stand out:

Mr. Tom Kmiec (Calgary Shepard, CPC)

Madam Speaker, I listened attentively to the minister’s intervention and, again, it was all flowery rhetoric. The Liberals govern by saying yes, but in truth they actually govern with a no. Every act they take leads to less investment in our communities. It has been estimated that just in one week, because of the price differential Albertans, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia are experiencing, one school and one hospital are being built in America and are not being built in Canada, all because the Liberals will not do anything about it. The minister talked about borrowing the land and environment from future generations. Absolutely the Liberals are borrowing huge, vast sums of money to finance their deficit spending and then not replacing it with investments.

On the TMX, the Trans Mountain expansion application was put in on December 16, 2013. We are five years and the line is still not built. I blame the government for doing this. I blame the government’s delays, talking a good game, but not doing anything. Another generation, the greatest generation, was able to almost fight World War II and win it and we are still waiting for a pipeline to be built, all because of the current government.

What does the minister have to say to my constituents about the government’s absolute failure to get energy infrastructure in the national interest built in Canada?

[Expand]

Hon. Jim Carr

Madam Speaker, I would say to the hon. member’s constituents that the Government of Canada believes we strike a balance between energy infrastructure development to job creation and environmental stewardship. We believe we have struck that balance through the approval of very important pipelines. The point should not be lost that it is very important to Canada to expand its export markets, that 99% of our exports in oil and gas go to one country, the United States. That is not good for our country, which is why, for a variety of other reasons, we think TMX is in Canada’s interest.

It is true in other sectors of the economy. We know that 99% of our exports of softwood lumber from Quebec go to one country, the United States. Therefore, I think the hon. member’s constituents would feel that the Government of Canada recognizes the importance of expanding in those markets, creating good jobs, and also of doing it in a way that is sustainable in the long term.

Quite apart from the sheer partisan nonsense posed by this eventual question –(“ Another generation, the greatest generation, was able to almost fight World War II and win it”… does that mean we were almost able to fight it or almost able to win it?) – and yet your answer was equally ambiguous referring to 99% of natural resources going to the USA with no reference to Article 605 of NAFTA and the problems that causes, and Minister Freeland has not even bothered to tell me if that is up for the re-negotiation of a Trade agreement which should be scrapped.   How can we export anywhere if we have already committed 99% of our production to the USA?  The Canadian Action Party has believed that NAFTA is good for the USA but not for Canada and Mexico, and we would signal our intent to scrap it immediately, and trade as we can with who we can at a mutually beneficial pace.

Then a question with implications of grave concern:

Mr. Kennedy Stewart (Burnaby South, NDP)

Madam Speaker, the minister said, irresponsibly, to a group of business leaders that he would use military defence and police forces to push this pipeline through. Will he stand in the House today and say that he will never do this, that it would never be considered, that he would not use the army and the police forces against British Columbians in their own communities, on the reserves, and in their municipalities? I would like him to stand today and say that is not an option on the table.

(1255)

[Expand]

Hon. Jim Carr

Madam Speaker, I am glad to respond to that. I am both confused and disappointed as to why the hon. member continues to bring that up since I have apologized and said I had misspoken. Within a few days of having said it, I realized it would invoke images that were not healthy to the debate, and I apologized to indigenous leaders. I will say again, as I have said many times over many months, that I apologized and misspoke.

A question which asked for a yes or no answer and neither was given.  An apology for having “misspoken” – a phrase coined by Peter Van Loan in defense of Brad Butt’s outright lies to the House in the last parliament – though perhaps required at another place was not an answer to this question  very  much on the minds of all BC as we possible are facing a recurrence of what happened at Standing Rock right here at home from our own army and the rent-a-cop RCMP.   The assumption here is that you cannot answer with either a yes or no and that the people of BC should be prepared for any eventuality.

War Measures Act over a pipeline anyone?

I am sure that the good people of Winnipeg must be wondering how safe Lake Winnipeg might be under this government’s carefree blindness to the realities of their health and indeed even their lives.

Jeremy Arney

ps  a copy of this was sent to Jay Inslee, Governor of the Washington State and was replied to immediately

OH CANADA, WHERE ART THOU?

Every day in our House of Commons, MPs stand and spout the word “democracy” over and over and occasionally – very rarely actuality – “sovereignty”.

There is no doubt in my mind that none of them have the first idea what either word means, but they are buzz words that seem to imply that they are working for Canadians.

This simply is not the case.

Sovereignty: (Canadian Oxford dictionary)

“the absolute and independent authority of a community, nation etc.,”

If we had sovereignty really, then why would all our political representatives have to swear allegiance to the Queen of England rather than to the people of Canada who elect and pay them?  Why would we have to abide by so-called Trade Agreements and surrender our environmental protection and laws to international corporate profits?

Democracy: (Canadian Oxford dictionary)

“a form of government in which the power resides in the people and is exercised by them either directly or by means of elected representatives”

The claims are made that we elect politicians to represent us, but actually, most Canadians will tell you that they vote for the party, not the person, and even worse they vote for who they want to be the most powerful person in Canada.  We all hope, in vain it turns out, that that person will actually work for Canada and Canadians.   They do not.  The two parties which have ruled Canada since it began are almost interchangeable today, and the fact remains that party politics require that all MPs vote with their party leader, not on behalf of their constituents, their hearts or their heads. What we have had over the years are two parties which respond to the national and international corporations and banks and we would be better described as a corpocracy, not as a parliamentary democracy

So much for democracy.

Stephen Harper announced in 2006 that we would not recognize Canada when he was through with it, and proceeded to make parliament completely dysfunctional.   Corporate welfare and investment deals were his things.  He made a point of announcing major decisions overseas, usually on a Friday night; committees of the House of Commons were routinely disrupted by his minions, with the most classic being by John Baird, a Minister and therefore not eligible to sit on any committee, on June 4th 2010

His budget implementation omnibus bill of 2012 gutting or repealing some 70 Acts, simply to make life easier for his corporate friends and donors was an action as contemptuous of the Canadian people as was the behavior that caused his to be the first government in the history of Westminster style parliaments to be defeated on the grounds of contempt of parliament.  To prove the contempt point he promptly accused the opposition of causing an election the Canadian people did not want over an already defeated budget.   There are many of us who thought that any member of that government should be barred from standing in the following election, but the people of Canada bought into his lies and gave him that final right to destroy Canada without opposition interference.

Democracy?   Not on your life.   Dictatorship? Absolutely.

Justin Trudeau came in with a fanfare and promise of “sunny days” which most of us thought were for us, but naturally, we were wrong again.  Those sunny days were for the corporations at home and more particularly from abroad, which would reap the benefits of a continued surrender of sovereignty through investment deals disguised as Free Trade Agreements.   Both CETA and TPP (or whatever the new name is) give foreign ‘enterprises’ or ‘entities’ the same rights as Canadians are supposed to have under the Charter of Rights and freedoms, and yes this was confirmed in writing by the current Minister of Trade.

From CETA under definitions:

person means a natural person or an enterprise;

person of a Party means a national or an enterprise of a Party;

This means that Daimler-Benz or Fiat, for example, under CETA have the same rights in Canada as do you and I.  Well, that is, if you know how to obtain those rights which you can be sure they do.

Now we have a federal government which has deliberately created a real rift between British Columbia and Alberta over a pipeline which can in fact not be used for exporting bitumen by boat to anywhere except the USA.

You may ask: “What?  How is this possible?”

NAFTA.

Article 605 of that agreement states that we can increase the percentage of production of any natural resource, but particularly petroleum products, to either the USA or Mexico, but we cannot later reduce that percentage to either country.   Since we only have one customer for the bitumen from Alberta as, according to Rachel Notley the Alberta Premiere, the USA takes 100% of our bitumen production so it follows therefore that all those proposed supertankers from Burnaby BC must head for an American port and not as claimed to another country or customer.

What happens if they try and go anywhere else?  Then the USA will take us to a NAFTA tribunal and it will cost Canada billions.  In an attempt then to give Alberta a few extra bucks the Canadian people will have to pay through the nose. That is described as being good for Canada.  I find it hard to agree with that.

As long as we have two interchangeable political parties in Canada which simply switch the colour of the ruling party every now and then we are doomed to sink further into the abyss both financially and morally.

Thus my question:  Oh Canada where art thou?

If we must retain the party system and obtain any form of democracry then we must have a minority government with a large number of small party or independent MPs holding the balance of power who can and will represent their people and will force amendments to bad bills, support good bills and really hold the government of Canada to account on behalf of the Canadian people.   Could we do this?    Yes, if the people want it we can.   Canadian apathy, however, will stop any change.

I left the UK in1967 and came to Canada to have and raise my family.  There are now four generations of Canadian Arneys on Vancouver Island, and I fear for their future, especially if BC remains part of a Canada which is becoming increasingly hostile to this province.

Where do we go from here?  It’s up to us, not those puppets of big money currently bragging that they listen to us when they do not.

A vision turning into a nighmare

Just a few days ago, I was driving along Lochside into Sidney, BC and stopped at a shoreline watching area to enjoy the large fluffy white clouds and the strange shapes they were creating 0ver the San Juan Islands, and the mainland – Washington State USA at that point.  The sun was shining on them and their whiteness was exaggerated by that.   As the sun slowly sank over the western horizon these clouds lost their glint and started turning grey and dark.   Time to move.

On my way home I was thinking about what I had just seen and I realized it was a sort of metaphor for Canada since the 1930s.

In 1974 our world was rosy. We had a small national debt we owed to ourselves, we had been through 40 years of growth and prosperity (even after the end of WW2 which we paid for our share ourselves) with very little inflation and the world was looking good.  The sun was shining on Canada as in our white clouds over the San Juans and their magnificent shapes.

However greedy and powerful men both here at home and internationally saw the potential of Canada and wanted a piece of the pie so to speak.  At the behest of the World Bank, the Bank of International Settlements was created to protect the interests and profits of the various privately owned central banks of countries around the world, and a series of agreements was created for this protection.  Basel 1, 11 and 111 are not international agreements between countries as most people thought or still think but are private banking agreements to which Gerald Bouey, then Governor of the Bank of Canada 1974,  signed our publicly owned bank into the first of those agreements.  He had no mandate to do so from either the government of Canada or the Canadian people, but I can only assume he was rewarded in the usual manner.   From that point on our national debt has spiraled out of control, no longer owed to ourselves but owned by international banks and investors.

In my metaphor the white clouds over the San Juans are losing their glow now

Over the last 40+ years successive governments, most particularly of some form of conservatives, have signed Canada into multiple deals they call Free Trade deals, starting with the Canada/USA FTA and currently being crowned with the CETA with Europe.   This CETA is the first one that has been openly called an economic agreement, that’s what the “E” stands for, but it is the culmination of years of false Free Trade deals all of which have been designed to allow investors from overseas to claim damages from our Federal government through a corporate tribunal if ANYTHING we do stops them from making a perceived profit from dealings in Canada.  This anything includes laws, or regulations to protect either our environment or our workers and their jobs.  Not only that but Canadian corporations have discovered that if they incorporate in Delaware USA (cheapest place in North America) it allows them to take advantage of NAFTA.   $130 million donated to Abitibi Bowater by Stephen Harper in a perfectly defendable claim against Newfoundland & Labrador that he chose to ignore, and $250 currently being claimed by Lone Pine Power of Calgary.

By now the white clouds of the metaphor have turned very grey and I leave and head home.

Canada meanwhile has been put into a box where our sovereignty is given to international corporations which now control our very country, not only through our monetary debt to them but through our so called “FREE TRADE DEALS”

 Free?  I think not!

The current version of a Liberal government is in fact a complete duplicate of the Stephen Harper regime intent on signing away more of our rights and indeed even wanting to take privatization further than even Libertarians could have dreamed about.  Our publicly owned Bank of Canada is to be replaced by a privately sponsored Infrastructure Bank of Canada which will have to give away control of anything in which it invests so we Canadians will have to pay user fees in order to satisfy the need for profit to those banks and investors as well as the compounding interest of our ever-increasing national debt.   Now our prime minister is looking to sell of our airports and sea ports to private operators so the cost of using them both will increase exponentially, and will of course be covered by more user fees.

By now I am home and it is getting much darker with no sunset to light up the horizon and I am left wondering how “sunny days and sunny ways” had disappeared so soon and left us with a dictator who could exchange masks with Stephen Harper (as shown in that cartoon a few months ago), and no-one would notice the difference.

It really is time for a peaceful revolt not only for Canada but also in BC where we are desperately in need of a legislature not controlled by the mining, development, housing and oil and gas interests.

Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep very well that night, thinking of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hey MPs I told you so

To all MPs and a majority of the Senators,

Bill C-36, an act respecting consumer product safety.

Strange isn’t it how things work out.

I, along with many others, wrote to you all about Bill C-36, and NHPs.

Section 4 (3) states:

For greater certainty, this Act does not apply to natural health products as defined in 1(1) of the Natural Health Products Regulations made under the Food and Drug Act.

What I wrote to you all time and again was that this was a red herring because the NHPs were going to be attacked under the regulations made to the Food and Drug Act and which came into force last January, and so Section 4 (3) was a meaningless paragraph.
But of course you all knew better did you not?  This was a victory for you wasn’t it?Just as you knew better about Canada’s sovereignty and rule of Law.
There have been a series of swat team type raids on natural health foods purveyors already and the damn is about to break.
This is what I received by email today from two different sources.

I regret to be the bearer of bad news. I have received confirmation of the new Health Canada enforcement intent for 2011. On March 1, 2011 Health Canada begins full enforcement of nhp’s. Here are the details:

·         On March 1, 2011 retailers will not be permitted to purchase unlicensed stock from suppliers (EN or NPN is required), regardless of a submission being in queue.
·         On March 1, 2011 importers will not be allowed to import unlicensed products (EN or NPN required).
·         On September 1, 2011 retailers will not be allowed to sell to consumers any product that does not have an EN or NPN. In other words, retailers will be allowed to continue selling out unlicensed stock from now until September 1, 2011 — but after September 1, 2011 they will not be permitted to sell unlicensed stock.

Do any of you have any idea how many applications there are for EN or NPNs that are being ignored by Health Canada for years because their pharmaceutical masters tell to do so?   Do any of you know how many products are being delisted for the same reason? Maybe one of you should check it out as it is not hard to find the answer. (Clue: it is in the 500,000 + range). Not one single pharmaceutical drug has been refused or delisted, inspite of hundreds of thousands of deaths, in how many years?

So for those if you who were so proud that you had managed to get this “concession” and therefore claimed that this Bill C-36 was very good for Canada and Canadians and so you did not need to listen to what we were saying to you, I say thank you for altering the very fabric of Canada, her citizens’ health and certainly her peoples’ freedoms to practice their own health care and privacy by your careless acceptance and passage of Bill C-36 with a catchy name.

It is way too late for you to re-read what you so blithely passed with hardly even looking at the Bill and it’s gross attack on Canada’s sovereignty and Rules of Law. Even though the valiant fight goes by a few Canadians in the Senate which is no longer a chamber of sober second thought but an extension of one man’s personal ideology and determination to destroy Canada by handing our parliament, courts and people over to his corporate masters. No it is a forgone conclusion unless some of those Harper minions in the Senate realise what is happening and decide that Canada is more important than a really dangerous Bill with a catchy name.

The Minister of Health has done a great job of selling you on the need for this Bill C-36 without ever referring to the real purpose behind the bill. All you MPs fell for it without regard for your constituents, whom you are supposed to represent, and without listening to their cries of alarm.  Great work. I expect you all to to be rewarded in the next election.

When the first regulations come rolling in from EU, USA, China, Israel,  or wherever without you even being made aware of them; when our agriculture and food supplies are all controlled by Monsanto; when our budget is under the direction of the IMF and/or the Bank of International Settlements,  remember this…YOU WERE WARNED.

I will not take the drugs that Health Canada will try to force on me as they did last year with the untested, untried dangerous H1N1 vaccine for a fake pandemic, but rather I will seek out the black market for those natural foods which are good for my body. Since I am now getting old it will not be long before I start to rot due to the lack of availability of healthy nutrition for low income seniors, so thank you all very much.

My greatest contempt is for the leaders of the parties who told you what to do and you did it blindly.  When the deaths start to happen due to malnutrition and excessive pharmaceutical drug use; from the fear of and the actuality of raids by armed riot police for the simple “suspected” possession of a possibly dangerous product; from the removal of personal possessions simply because they can be removed indefinitely, remember Health Canada, Health Canada’s real masters, Bill C-36 and your part in it.

My admiration to those who are still fighting for Canada in the Senate, and you know who you are.  You are included in this simply so you know what I think of the rest, but I thank you for your continued efforts on behalf of Canada, my children and grandchildren. May the force be with you.

For the rest of you I have nothing but pity and some measure of contempt.

What’s going on Mr Cannon?

Dear Minister Cannon,
It appears that neither you nor your department have read the PM’s memo.

Your Leader has clearly stated that Canadian Sovereignty is soon to be a thing of the past, so why are you using it as any of excuse for not signing the UN declaration of the rights to clean water for everyone.?

From the National Post:
“Melissa Lantsman, press secretary for Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon, said Wednesday that Canada’s sovereignty over its own natural water supply is a key issue for government”.
“We continue to assert that international human rights obligations in no way limit our sovereign right to manage our own resources,” Ms. Lantsman said.

Your fellow cabinet member and Minister for Indian Affairs wrote to me that:

“Our government” will continue to demonstrate leadership by advancing the cause of indigenous rights around the world and create opportunities for a better future for Canada’s Aboriginal peoples”.

This was in response to my question to him about Canada’s reluctance to sign the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, as promised in the latest throne speech. It would appear that the rights, wellbeing and health of our own First Nations peoples are being put on hold by both of you whilst this Reform / Alliance coalition government plays political games in the name of sovereignty which you plan to trade in for global corporate rule.

What is really going on here Mr. Cannon?
