Canada’s sick health system

The honourable Jasmeet Singh

Leader of the NDP of Canada

Member of Canadian Parliament

Member of the World Economic Forum

19th December 2022

I saw you today on Power and Politics (CBC) talking about the current health crisis that exists in Canada and your determination to hold Trudeau accountable to Canadians to solve this problem.

This is not about money per se it is about “manpower” and that falls into the jurisdiction of the provinces and their Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons.

In BC this college is totally derelict in performing to its mandate.  From their website:

“Our mandate: The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia regulates the practice of medicine under the authority of provincial law. All physicians and surgeons who practice medicine in the province must be registrants of the College. The College’s overriding interest is the protection and safety of patients. The role of the College is to ensure that registrants meet expected practice standards and that they are qualified, competent and fit to practice medicine. The College manages processes for responding to complaints from patients and for taking action if a physician or surgeon is practicing in a manner that is incompetent, unethical or illegal. The College also administers a number of quality assurance activities to ensure physicians and surgeons remain competent throughout their professional lives, and patients receive care in accredited diagnostic and private medical/surgical facilities.”   My bolding.

This clearly is a good thing when it comes to the general practice of the western medicine doctors etc., but it does not allow for any naturopathic doctor or compounding pharmacy to operate in BC. On the contrary The Marigold Natural compounding pharmacy of Courtney on Vancouver Island was shut down by the RCMP on the insistence of the college who have no training in naturopathy whatsoever.

Beside that there is the insistence that western medicine doctors under their licensing in BC were forbidden by the college from actually practicing medicine to the best of their ability and with their patients’ health foremost in their minds.  On the contrary if they tried to do that fulfilling their Hippocratic oath with the plandemic rather than the voodoo doctrine espoused by Trudeau, Bonnie Henry etc., and indeed the college, those doctors were told to smarten up or lose their licenses.   This also applied to nurse practitioners and nurses and indeed hospital support staff.  The inevitable result was that many left their family practices or their hospitals at a time when the annual flu ( for the last two years known as “covid” or the “Fauci flu”) was at its height and they have not returned. Now when its too late we are in desperate need of their service as a new flu season hits especially on children with now depressed or damaged immune systems.

Fully qualified doctors from overseas simply cannot afford the fees to be retrained for BC when in fact they are already fully qualified doctors where they came from. I know of one such who is actually working in a care home here on the Island and they love him because of his knowledge and his ability to comfort and help them.

From the website for the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Message from the president and registrar

“The “new normal” we strove for this past year eluded us with every shift in the pandemic. Nonetheless, we still have an unprecedented opportunity to shape the future together. The College’s mandate to serve the public is the foundation of the work done this year as outlined in this report.”

Thus, we can see that service to the public is to deprive them of their family doctors, and now we in BC are paying the price.

You can bother the federal government for more money but the problem lies with the colleges and in BC. with Bonnie Henry and until you can get them to upgrade their mission, or to live by it, nothing will change.

You can swagger and tell us that you are pressuring Trudeau when in fact you should be pressuring your own provincial NDP – David Eby,  Adrian Dix(health), Niki Sharma (AG) to start.

Perhaps you could redirect your anger towards the culprits who have caused this situation, along with Trudeau of course whose actions regarding the untested, toxic, jabs with no known side effects either short or long term, will be answered for eventually.

Wet’suwet’en

February 2020

We now have our own version of Standing Rock here in Canada, involving real people who live as they have for millennia on unceded territory in British Columbia.

Under the Indian Act, it was decreed that there would be elections on reservations etc., to run those reserves and those who won the brass goose would be called elected chiefs.  Problem is that like almost every politician in North America, they are subject to the bribes or threats of the corporate powers whose only interest is money.  These elected chiefs in Wet’suwet’en,  for whichever of the above reasons, fell in line with the power structure (read corporate right and profit versus peoples’ rights) and here is where the whole problem arises.

The elected chiefs are there to run their reserves as businesses and in accordance to the scraps given them by federal and provincial money, and even smaller scraps by corporate powers plundering their lands.

The Hereditary Chiefs are there to ensure that the way of life, the land, the waters and the air are not irreparably damaged for those yet to come. They too are the keepers of history and tradition and that includes sacred lands where their ancestors are buried.

The Hereditary Chiefs are not bound by threats of less money or the promise of more money as that is not their way.  Their way is the way of the land as it has been for thousands of years.  Because of their stewardship of the land, air and water it is all still there for their people and they are trying to make sure that it will be next year, next decade and next century.  Don’t try and tell them they can’t get by without money, for money is only a new imposition upon them since the foreigners attacked and stole some of this land a few centuries ago and introduced them to European ways of treachery.

Under the leadership of the Hereditary Chiefs, there are still animals to trap, water to drink and clean air to breathe and life experiences to be taught to the young people; that is all under attack by corporate greed with elected people from Canada and BC in full agreement.

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realize that we can’t eat money  (Native American Proverb)

So what is happening in the unceded territory of the Wet’suwet’en is an affront to all those who agree with and have signed on to the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.  Can you imagine the outcry if the Algonquin territory upon which our capital is built, was to be taken back and turned into a massive amusement park? Oh, actually I suppose it has already if you have a twisted sense of humour, for it is becoming more and more difficult to differentiate between politicians and willful children pretending to have fun.

If this is what it means when the PM reiterates over and over again that the most important relationship the government has is with our First Nations, Inuit and Metis, then we are in a period of time travelling with Alice through her looking glass.

 What have we become Canada?
